The Brush Dies feature brushes that help reduce tool marks and improve the surface finish of the material. The brushes are made from nylon and are available in both hard and soft versions
Features
1.Purpose: Used between high forming dies to avoid or minimize scratches on the parts by slightly elevating the material above the die surface.
2.Programming: In the Amada software, you can check the option to use a special tool as a brush tool. This setting will be applied in the stations, not in the tool inventory
Installation Guide
1.Check Compatibility: Ensure the brush die is compatible with your Amada machine and the specific die station size.
2.Insert into Die Station: Insert the brush die into the appropriate die station in the lower turret.
3.Software Configuration: In the Amada software, go to the Station Tool Information Window and check the option to use the tool as a brush die.
Advantages
1.Reduces Scratches: Minimizes scratches on the workpiece by slightly elevating the material above the die surface.
2.Improves Surface Quality: Enhances the surface quality of the finished parts by preventing contact with the die surface during high forming operations.

The Thick Turret Brush Die is a highly specialized accessory used in CNC turret punch presses, and it serves a critical purpose other than punching—it protects the surface finish of the sheet metal
A standard punching machine's die holder is a hard, flat metal surface. While this is fine for regular punching, it can scratch or mar the surface of delicate or finished sheet materials.
1. Surface Protection (Anti-Marring)
Design: The brush die replaces a standard steel die plate with a robust metal ring filled with stiff, durable bristles (usually nylon or a composite material).
Function: When the metal sheet is moved across the turret station, the sheet slides over the soft, elevated bristles instead of scraping against the hard metal surface.
Benefit: It is essential when working with pre-finished materials (like polished stainless steel, galvanized sheet, or plastics) where scratching is unacceptable.
2. Sheet Movement and Support
Function: The brush filaments provide a cushion that supports the sheet material while allowing it to be moved quickly and easily by the machine's clamps and positioning system.
Context: Brush dies are often used alongside or instead of the main brush table sections on the punch press work area.
Benefit: Reduced friction facilitates faster and smoother repositioning of the sheet between punching strokes, which improves overall machine throughput.
3. Application in Turret
Where it's placed: Brush dies are typically loaded into empty or infrequently used large-diameter stations (C, D, or E stations) in the turret.
Why: Even when a tool isn't actively punching in a station, the sheet metal often passes directly over that station's die holder while the sheet is being repositioned. Having a brush die in these "open" stations ensures the material is protected regardless of where the sheet is moving.
