The application requires a three-pass process to achieve the final form. At the end of the forming path, the wheel rolls off the material. While this may cause minor distortion at the start and end of the run, it is well within standard industry tolerances.
● Clearance & Safety: Always maintain an approximate 0.5” (12.7 mm) gap around the protruding die. Exercise extreme caution to prevent the sheet metal from colliding with the tall die during high-speed feeding.
● Forming Strategy: A three-pass method with alternating left-to-right movements yields the best results with minimal material warping. Attempting a two-pass approach with excessive initial forming will cause severe bowing, leading to sheet feeding and machine crashing issues.
● Circular Flanges: For flanged circular openings, program a three-pass sequence: the tool lowers into the opening, gradually feeds into the material, and completes a full 360° pass. Repeat this cycle three times to achieve a flawless finish.
