The Durma Thick Turret Multi-Tool Punch is an advanced tooling system used on Durma CNC turret punching machines. Its core purpose is to dramatically increase the tool capacity of the machine and reduce setup time.
A multi-tool system allows a single, large station (like a C or D station) on the machine's turret to hold multiple, smaller, independently operating punch and die sets.
How it Works
Assembly: Multiple small punch and die inserts (e.g., 6 small 24mm tools for the DMT6-24mm) are pre-loaded into the main multi-tool holder assembly.
Installation: The entire multi-tool assembly is loaded into a single, dedicated large hole on the Durma turret (often a C or D station).
Punching: When the CNC program calls for a tool within the multi-tool:
The turret rotates to position the multi-tool under the ram.
The multi-tool's internal mechanism (or the machine's ram actuator) is commanded to strike only the specific small punch required, leaving the other punches in place.
If the system is indexed, the entire multi-tool assembly will rotate to the required angle before striking.
In essence, the Durma Thick Turret Multi-Tool is a highly efficient way to maximize the versatility and production speed of your punching machine.
